Does my recitation get recorded?
No. Listening and verification happen entirely on your device. Audio is never recorded, stored, uploaded, or shared. It’s a core design constraint, not a setting you have to find.
How does the app-blocking work?
With your permission, Hisn uses Apple’s Screen Time controls to pause the apps you choose during a prayer window. You decide which apps, and whether the block is firm or a gentle pause you can dismiss.
Do I need to be fluent in Arabic?
Not at all. Hisn serves fluent and non-fluent readers alike — translations and transliterations are there when you want them, and verification adapts to your pace.
Is it really free?
Yes. Hisn is free, with no ads and no in-app purchases. The obligatory parts of practice will never sit behind a paywall.
What if it mishears me?
It happens — rooms are noisy. Hisn flags a part humbly and offers to revisit it, never marking a failure. You’re always in control of how a portion is graded.
